  Handcrafted in Vermont from natural hardwoods, the Shakermoon Bed is a perfect fit for your healthy bedroom. You choose which hardwood (cherry, maple or walnut) you prefer and the piece is handcrafted just for you, finished with a natural hand-rubbed finish. The Maple Corner Woodworks beds are designed with a superb platform, eliminating the need for a box spring (although can be made in that style). As well, all beds have ten wide slats that securely interlock with hardwood dowels on the side rails. Side rails are joined to the head and footboards with heavy-duty cast hangers. No tools are required. King and California King sizes have center-reinforced support by way of a strong piece of hardwood that attaches to the head& foot board via drop-in hardware, just under the slats. Due to the strength of this support, no center leg is required, giving you full access to utilize all under-bed space. The traditional Shaker style of this bed incorporates the finer elements of that period of furniture design. Lines are clean and simple. Components are well proportioned for a delicate yet sturdy appearance. Four-sided tapered corner posts are used as well as chamfered edges, cove moldings and the traditional round button shaker knob (on accessory pieces). The resulting design has lasted the ages and continues to be extremely popular.
